Wasn't sure where to file this, so I selected LILO.
When I click reboot and selected my other partition (windows) for reboot, I ended up
at a nongraphical login prompt.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Click logout from menu bar.
2. Click Shutdown from KDM
3. Select reboot/windows
At this point, lilo came up with the menu options. I thought "Hey, it didn't reboot
before doing this".
4. Selected windows.
Graphical interface died leaving me at a login prompt (such as you would see if you
didn't have XServer running).
Entered a shutdown -r now and system rebooted normally.

I confirm.
If reboot is requested from the desktop, the problem is the same => nongraphical
login prompt.
