------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-02-27 20:09 ------- I guess this makes me want to ask several questions. 1) You got no display using the nv driver that came with RC1? Do you mean during the install process, when you test the X configuration? Did you try running X after rebooting, since there have been reports of troubles with the test in the install process? 2) Did you build from the Nvidia source RPM? 3) Did it build with no errors? When you "rpm --rebuild NVIDIA_kernel-1.0-3123.src.rpm" as root 4) What message did you get when you installed the driver RPM? When you "RPM -ivh NVIDIA_kernel-1.0-3123.i586.rpm" as root 5) What does the log file for Xfree86 say when you try starting it? Basically, I think we need a lot more information before figuring out what is going on. Given that you have a set of properly built RPMs for the kernel and the GLX, everything normally installs very smoothly, making me suspect that your RPMs are not correct. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. ------- Reminder: ------- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: UNCONFIRMED creation_date: description: I have a Dell Inspiron 2650 and I installed Mandrake 9.1 RC 1 and the installation was great. When I configured X and tested my settings the screen went black and nothing happend. I rebooted and went to NVIDIA's website here http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?IO=linux_display_1.0-3123 Installed the kernel driver file and the glx driver file, I followed the instructions and edited XF86CONFIG-4 file type startx and it almost works then I get a failed to initialize NVdriver kernel module.
