I began rc1 by just downloading and installing CD1. The upgrade option worked
all right, and I just hit ESC when it asked for CD2. The newly installed program
worked, but the KPPP dialer kept hanging up after a few minutes online.
I then downloaded CD2 and CD3. I restarted install with CD1, trying both upgrade
and complete installs. As the install program got to the end of CD2, it had
errors installing each of the following, and asked to continue: xine-,
xlockmore-, texinto-, xmms-skins.
I retried two more times a complete install. I was trying to install all
packages except for SERVER programs. On try two I didn't try to install other
desktops or 3rd party software support. On try three the only extras I tried
outside of install program defaults were configuration and documentation
programs. On the third try it asked me for disk 3. But, it kept having problems
installing stuff. On the second try it returned me to the software installation
choice menu. The third time it took me to user level, but I never got an
installation which would let me boot up linux and go to the desktop.
