------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-03-03 17:34 ------- Can you look at dmesg output to check if kernel is working correctly with the cd drive ? ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. ------- Reminder: ------- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: UNCONFIRMED creation_date: description: in both the graphic software installer and in urpmi, I can't update most packages because the programs don't recognize the cds. For example, if I seek to update application FOO, the updater asks me to install disk one, two or three of the set I downloaded off the mirrors. I follow instructions, but installation of new stuff hangs, then the disk is ejected, and I get the message asking for the disk again. Yet these same disks served to install Mandrake 9.1 last week. dmesg with the disk in the cdrom reports the disk doesn't exist. What gives? Also, KDE is all )&#$)W#* up. I've had to go to GNOME which is working great. This is 800mhz duron, abit kt7 RAID moboard, 512 mb RAM, a system which has always been a pleasure to use with mandrake.
