------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-03-03 22:58 ------- The Cooker has a different kernel version than 9.0 did. You need a copy of the NVidia driver that is built for the correct kernel version, or (the best solution) you need to get a copy of the source RPM and do an RPM --rebuild to build the correct version. That way, if another kernel version comes out, you can rebuild the Nvidia kernel driver for it. I'm sure that an error message was displayed when you installed the nvidia kernel driver, didn't you see it, or were you not doing it from a command line? ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. ------- Reminder: ------- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: UNCONFIRMED creation_date: description: Video card : Nvidia Chipset GeForce2 MX 100/200 As the driver found was not fast enough, I have tried the Nvidia driver, as I did successfully with Mdk 9.0. The packages were : NVIDIA_GLX-1.0-4191.i386.rpm NVIDIA_kernel-1.0-4191.mdk90up.i586.rpm When launching startx : Fatal server error: Caught signal 11. Server aborting Happily rpm -e NVIDIA_GLX rpm -e NVIDIA_kernel were able to restore XFree. I have saved XFree86.0.log I can send it if needed.
