I just tried this with 1.3-0.final.20030228.1mdk as you suggested and it now
works as expected for both changing and downloading themes! I don't know if I
am supposed to change this to "FIXED" or if you do, so I haven't changed the
status, but it is definately working (if I am, supposed to change status, please
let me know for future reference).

Also noticed the Mandrake shortcuts have been added back. Good job and thanks!

description:
As mentioned in a different bug report, Mozilla 1.3b (Mandrake 9.1 RC1) themes
can't be changed from the default classic. Also, downloading and installing a
new theme fails.

I believe this is because there are no "chrome" directories and related files
created under the user profile in the .mozilla directory. Here is what I've found:

Installing 9.1 RC1 as a clean install, but keeping the existing home
directories, Mozilla themes works for existing users, but not newly created ones.

Installing 9.1 RC1 as a clean install, without keeping existing home
directories, Mozilla themes do not work for anyone, including root. Root gives
the message from the cli: "grep: /usr/lib/mozilla-1.3b/chrome/locale.alias: no
such file or direcotry" and after that themes can be changed for root (I'm
assuming, though, that root is then using the above directory because the
profile in root's directory still does not have a chrome directory.

In either of the above scenarios, copying a chrome directory from my Mandrake
9.0 box to any users created on the 9.1 box fixes the problem. So, I'm pretty
sure that the problem is with the missing chrome directory and the profile that
is created.
