------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-03-05 07:59 -------
This is not a bug per se and does not cause any data corruption (more than
without double mounting :)

Supermount is virtual filesystem so kernel has no way to check for "the same
device" as it does for normal mount. Even for normal device it allows multiple
mounts for read-only case.

The worst that can happen is it will block access to writeable media after
second mount.

Please, provide for some user's intellegence. If user can mount he is root (or
has been delegated root priviliges by root). And if he is root he is supposed
to know what he is doing.

description:
I have kernel 2.4.19-24mdk with supermount enabled.
First, I umount /mnt/cdrom. Then I mount /mnt/cdrom TWICE and the system indicates no
error !! The "Used by" field of lsmod for supermount also goes up by one everytime I
mount
thus showing that supermount is aware of it.
How can a cd devicd be mounted more than once to the same mount point ? This is very
ridiculous.
