           Product: Hardware
         Component: Screen
Summary: Intel 830 video card and others
           Version: 9.1-0.1mdk
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: blocker
          Priority: P2
        AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
        ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

System: Notebook Toshiba Satellite 3000 - X4 (Cel 933, 128 Mb, 20 Gb, !! Intel
830 video card

1) MAJOR
System starts - OK (except PCMCIA net adapter), X start - OK, KDE start -
OK, working in X - OK. Now the problem: switching between console (Ctrl + Alt
+ F1) and back to X is blocking the video card. That means I can't see
anything on screen or the screen is freezed with the X image (also mouse
freeze). The intresting thing is that if I switch back to console 1 or any
other I can log as root (in a "blind" way) and give the comand reboot.

2) NORMAL
During boot the PCMCIA net adapter (model PLANET 10/100 - Realtek 8139 comp.)
did not start. I get a message to try 8139too instead of 8139C+ ... but also a
error. I think that not the driver is the problem but the starting sequence.
PCMCIA shoul start first and after that the net adapter.

3) Normal and personal ...
The Romanian keyboard layout (QWERTZ ... watch out ... Z at the and) has a
little mistake: - - (Big T with a comma under it) key is OK but the little
one - - (in Romanian QWEWRTY layout is: AltGr + t) is wrong, the output is -
 ' -. How can I make the change ... I'm not a linux expert YET ! 8-]

THANKS ... Dan
PS: Who's in charge with the boot splash ... tell him to change it is
boring ..
