Hi, I wasn't sure if this should be reported to the DrakX people or the kdm
people, so I chose the latter. :-) Presently, if I choose to autologin during
setup under a particular ID, the autologin does not use the kdm/mdkkdm
"framework" for autologin but has some other method of doing so.

This is very bad for a very big usability reason. It means that kdm/mdkkdm
is not launched until after one logs out, thus KDE does not offer
shutdown/reboot options in the logout screen. This usability issue has
existed for awhile, but I just can't imagine any reason for it. If KDM/mdkkdm
is installed (which it is, of course, by default), why not use the kdm
configuration setting for autologin instead? This would make things easier
both for the user dealing with logging out and for disabling/reenabling this
functionality in the future.
