I use a scanner Epson 1240U perfectly recognized and configured when installing
Mandrake 9.1rc1. Sane and mtink and Gimp works perfectly. I had absolutly
nothing to do ! Congratulations !
When launched from drakconf, scannerdrake is indefinitly waiting... and tell me
: "veuillez patienter" (Please wait). An indefinite loop takes 95% CPU.
Happily the button "Annuler" is still active and stops scannerdrake.

When scannerdrake is stopped, the scanner is still working perfectly.
