With alt1 kernel, installation starts succesfully, but after the language

Hi,
on my Toshiba Satellite 2430-301, installation of the most recent 9.1/RC1 hangs
just after "Uncompressing Linux... OK, booting the kernel".
I even tried the 'linux aspi=off noapic' options, it did not help.
It is the same with MDK9.0, RH8.0, Knoppix, but works without any problems with
Suse 8.1 eval.
What is so special with 2430-301?
