Ati.2 was packaged so that if it did not help or give Xv support, it could be uninstalled and go back to the previous drivers. If someone installed ati.2 that didn't have an ATI video card, it would definitely not help. Putting a dependency on avview for ati.2 may not be the right solution but if too many problems occur, the dependency can be removed. Btw, ffmpeg is only needed for video capture and I have no intention of enabling it in avview before 9.1 final. Spence
