The same thing happens with my USB flash card.
Because the automatic mount is too long, I made a "supermount disable", I create
a  and icon "nikon" on the desktop and I create a new entry in fstab ;
/dev/sda1 /mnt/nikon vfat user,codepage=850,noauto,umask=0,exec 0 0
It works fast and is easy to use.

It would be great to configure supermount enable|disable from drakeconf.
