CHUTNEY CHEESE BALL

Makes 1 (3-inch) ball.

 

1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, cut into chunks

 

1 green onion, including some tender green tops, coarsely chopped

 

1 garlic clove, minced

 

1/4 cup chutney, preferably Major Grey's

 

1/4 teaspoon salt

 

1/4 cup finely chopped pecans

 

Apple slices for serving

 

Water wafers for serving

 

To mix cheese ball: In bowl of food processor, combine cream cheese, onion, 
garlic, chutney and salt. Process until well blended. Scrape down sides of bowl.

Wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate several hours.

 

To form cheese ball: Form cheese mixture into ball. Put nuts on piece of waxed 
paper. Roll cheese ball in nuts.

 

To serve: Place on plate. Arrange apple slices and wafers around cheese ball.
