Pecan butter balls 

1 stick margarine softened 

 2 tablespoons sugar 

 1 teaspoon vanilla

 1 cup flour 

1 cup finely chopped pecans 

With hands, mix all ingredients until well blended 

Form into one-inch balls 

Bake 325 for 20-25 minutes or until set but not brown 

After cooled roll in powdered sugar 

These do not rise so can be placed rather close together on cookie sheet 

Makes about 2 dozen 

I like to roll cookies like these in the powdered sugar when warm and again 
once completely cooled.

these  are very similar to pecan sandies (a recipe I  also make) the difference 
is that you use half cup confectioner's sugar  instead  of the quarter cup 
granulated
