Fettuccine Alfredo Recipe adapted from Saveur magazine.
St. Paul Pioneer Press Makes 6 servings. 2 packages (9 ounces each) fresh fettuccine pasta 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, cut into small pieces 3 1/4 cups (about 8 ounces) grated parmesan cheese Ground black pepper, to taste To prepare oven, serving bowl: Heat oven to 200 degrees. Place large oven-safe serving bowl in oven to warm. To cook pasta: Bring large saucepan of salted water to a boil. Add pasta. Cook according to package directions. When pasta is finished, reserve 3/4 cup cooking water. Drain pasta. To make sauce: Remove bowl from oven. Place butter in bowl. Add pasta. Toss pasta, melting butter and mixing it with pasta. A bit at a time, add cheese and reserved pasta cooking water, tossing until all cheese is added and melted. Season with pepper.
