Since we're talking about breakfast foods, here's how I do hash browns.  By 
the way, you can eat them for lunch, dinner, or late night snack if you 
like.
 Chop an onion.  Crush two cloves garlic, more if you like, or use powdered 
garlic.

In a medium frying pan, medium heat, Brown the potatoes in olive oil.  Stir 
constantly.  After around five minutes, add the onions and garlic.  Stir and 
continue frying until potatoes are brown and cooked through and onions are 
soft, about four more minutes.
