Hi,
Yes, you can wash china in warm soapy water with a sponge or dishcloth; rinse, and then dry thoroughly before putting away.

Use a brush or dry towel to clean the bits of flour out of your sifter, don't use a wet sponge! To remove the last bits of flour after use, just turn it upside down over the sink and tap figorously on the sides.

I hardly ever use a sifter for dry ingredients any more. Instead, I follow Alton Brown's advice and combine the dry ingredients with a few pulses of the food processor!

Hi,

I need some help.

How do I dry it?

Some bits of flour are stuck to the side of our crank sifter.

Not on the screen itself but on the metal sides on the inside portion.

Can I take the bits of flour off with a sponge. I don't want it to rust.

Speaking of sifter: what's the best way to clean out the last type of flour used. I like to use wholewheat. My daughter likes to use white.
