I have purchased a talking meat thermometer from Independent Living Aids for
testing the meat on the grill. I have found that using a "charcoal chimney"
is easy for lighting the charcoal. The chimney looks like an extra large
sifter. The charcoal is loaded into the top of the chimney and two pieces
of newspaper are wadded up and placed into the bottom of the unit. Simply
light the paper and wait for the charcoal to become hot on top. I hope that
this helps some. This is a great list and I enjoy the recipes. ss
