Grapes With Cinnamon Walnut Cream
1 1/2 cups seedless red grapes or halved and seeded Emperor grapes or other
grapes
1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts
1/2 cup whipping cream
1/2 cup sour cream
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Combine whipping cream, sour cream, sugar, vanilla extract and cinnamon in a
small bowl. Cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour before serving. Arrange
grapes in a dessert bowl or individual dessert dishes. Spoon sauce over
grapes. Sprinkle with walnuts. Serve within 30 minutes. Good with buttery
cookies or plain crisp wafers.
Tips:
This sauce is excellent with berries, sliced peaches or nectarines, or as a
topping for baked apples. The cream is not whipped for this dessert, but
blends with sour cream to make a smoothe sauce, reminiscent of European
Creme Fraiche.
Makes 4 servings.
