To make your own bisquick, mix the following ingredients until crumbly:

2 3/4 cups sifted flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 tablespoons baking powder
1/2 cup vegetable shortening

This makes 3 cups...

Use as a replacement for Bisquick in any recipe.
It's always worked well for me.

Hi all,

I see a lot of bisquick recipes here lately. We don't have this product in Israel and I'm not sure what it is exactly. Sounds like some kind of basic cake mix: flour and baking powder and I don't know what else. So I'd like to know what is bisquick and if you can suggest a substitute.

Thanks
Sisi
