Hi folks. I had a go at doing my own roast potatoes which weren't bad for a first attempt but I want to tell you how I did it so some-one might be able to tell me where I went wrong. First after peeling and chopping them I steamed them in the microwave which comes out the same texture as when I boil them and then put some oil in a foil tray estimating how much because I wasn't sure how much to use. Then I put the spuds in the oil trying to coat them as much as I could and put them in the oven and turned them every 15 minutes but after half an hour when I checkied them and even when they had been cooking for 45 minutes they weren't crisping up so I ended up finishing them off in my microwave grill pan which browns everything and they actually looked kmore like roast potatoes after that. OH and I had to have a bit of help with the slicing from my support worker because I find slicing roar potatoes with no sight a bit of a pain at the best of times. I would love some advice I know you can get ready done ones but I love making somethign that is completely my own especially when people come over for dinner and roast dinner is big in the Uk on Sundays especially. Many thanks. Sarah _______________________________________________ Cookinginthedark mailing list [email protected] http://acbradio.org/mailman/listinfo/cookinginthedark
