NO-FAIL COOKIE DOUGH FOR COOKIE CUTTERS, WITH FROSTING 

  1 stick butter
  1 C. sugar
  1 egg
  2-1/2 C. flour
  1 tsp. baking powder
  1/2 tsp. salt
  1/8 tsp. cinnamon
  1 tsp. vanilla
  1-2 tbsp. milk

Combine butter and sugar and beat until fluffy.
Add egg and mix well.
Combine dry ingredients then add slowly to mixture.
Add vanilla and enough milk to make dough pliable.
Roll out 1/2" thick and cut into desired shapes.
quantity depends on cutter size--So don't ask.
Bake @ 350 for 10-to-12 mins: till edges start to brown.
Cool, frost, decorate.

FROSTING:

      1 C. powdered sugar
      Food coloring
      1 T. lemon juice +   1 tsp. water or fruit juice
OR 1 tsp. flavoring + 1 T. water or fruit juice

Mix together and spread on cookies. 
Great recipe for children to help with.  Enjoy.
