I've made this soup and it's good!
It makes quite a bit.
   Lentil-hamburger Soup

1 pound lean ground beef.
1 cup lentils.
1 cup chopped carrots.
1 cup chopped celery.
1 cup chopped onions.
1 cup chopped cabbage.
2 beef cubes.
1 48-oz. can, tomato juice.
4 cups water.
1 bay leaf.
Salt and pepper to taste.

Brown hamburger.
Place hamburger and remaining ingredients in large pot.
Cook on high heat until mixture boils, about 10 minutes.
Simmer for 1-1/2 to 2 hours until lentils are tender.
