Meatballs Creole

 

1 pound ground beef

1/2 cup regular oats, uncooked

1/2 cup tomato sauce

1/2 tsp garlic salt

1/4 tsp salt

1/4 cup flour

2 TBLSPS vegetable oil

3/4 cup water

1/2 cup tomato sauce

1/2 cup chili sauce

2 small onions, chopped

hot cooked rice

Combine first 5 ingredients, mix well.  Shape mixture into 1 & 1/4" meatballs; 
dredge in flour.  Brown in oil over medium heat in a large skillet; drain off 
drippings.  Combine remaining ingredients, except rice; mix well, and pour over 
meatballs.  Simmer 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.  Serve over hot cooked 
rice.  Yields 4 servings.
