I just finished baking my first batch of oatmeal apple muffins in my new silicone muffin pan. As per the directions from the manufacturer, Tefal Proflex, I very lightly oiled the surfaces before the first use.
I got concerned when I smelled something burning, but I let it be. When I removed the muffins from the pan, I discovered that I had gotten some batter on the under side of the pan. I was so relieved that I hadn't done something to harm the pan and was so happy to see that it wiped off so easily. A great big thank you to everyone on this list for the discussion on silicone pans.
