Hi all.

I finally found a round plastic container which was suitable for doing a cake
in the microwave and thought I'd mix all the ingredients in it, cook it and
store it all in the same container so I experimented. I decided to do a small
cake so I used 2 ounces self raising flour, 2 ounces sugar, 2 ounces butter, 1
egg and about half a measuring cup of milk only to find at first that in spite
of how much I mixed the ingredients the mixture was not wet enough which
puzzled me as I thought it was usually 1 egg per 2 ounces and didn't know if
the batteries in my scales were going or something so I added another egg and a
drop more milk and the cake cooked in about 10 minutes I tried 3 at a time and
then checked it. It was like a sponge pudding but it was a sponge I guess if
its microwaved it steams it rather than bakes it but it was a success. I'd be
interested to know if any-one else has tried baking in the microwave and been
successful with it. AT least now I know it can be done. Th
anks for all the recipes that are shared.

Best wishes.

Sarah
