I've done that to season a cast iron skillet.

Hey with Easter just passing, I thought a wok was what you threw at a wabit

Subject: [CnD] Seasoning a Wok

HI listers,

I have just bought a new wok that needs to be seasoned. Apparently,
according to the directions, you are supposed to heat it until it smokes;
remove from heat and allow to cool.. aOnce cool, scrub inside with n
abrasive cleanser to remove the lacquer. Then, oil. When clean, rinse and
dry the wok thoroughly and proceed to next step immediately.
Pour 1 to 2 teaspoons of cooking oil into the wok (vegetable, canola,
soybean, or peanut). What kind of abrasive cleanser should be used? Has
anyone ever done this before?

Many thanks in advance for your response.
Best Wishes,
Suzanne
