Melissa's Holiday Cranberry Pineapple Salad

A refreshing salad or side dish, this recipe impresses family 
and guests with its striking rosy color. It's a delightfully
different alternative to 

traditional cranberry sauce-the nuts add a tasty crunch.
1 can (20oz) crushed pineapple, drain & save juice
2 pks (4 serving size each) Jello-O Raspberry Flavor Gelatin
1 can (16oz) whole berry cranberry sauce
1 medium apple, chopped
2/3 chopped walnuts or pecans

Using the reserved pineapple juice add water to equal 3 cups
liquid.
Large saucepan bring to boil.
Remove from heat and add gelatin.
Stir until completely dissolved.
Add cranberry sauce and stir until well blended.
Pour into bowl and refrigerate 1 1/2 hours or until slightly
thickened.
Stir in pineapple, apple and nuts.
Pour into serving bowl and chill until firm.
