I have a hammered steel griddle that is great for things like this, but you do
need to rub one down with a dab of oil on a paper towel when you take it out
of the dishwasher to keep it from rusting.

If Revereware has a flat griddle it's a good option, as they are good quality
and they have a lifetime guarantee.

Subject: [CnD] Stainless steel griddles and skillets?

Hello,
I have a bird. Where I am living presently, I cannot have him. The place I
am living furnished my kitchen with various pots and pans. Among them, is a
teflon griddle. I have used it to make pancakes on and really like it, save for
its teflon surface. Since I have a bird, I cannot use teflon around him. Teflon
emits an invisible gas that, when inhaled by birds, can kill them. There are
lots of stories online as well, about humans getting poisoned from teflon
gases. The gas is in the food you eat out of teflon pots/pans as well, so
anything cooked in a teflon pot/pan can be fatal to a bird and can make humans
sick. Since acquiring my bird and learning this, I have gotten rid of all
teflon and will not cook with it at all, unless I really have no other choice.
I have moved some of my stainless steel pots to the location I am currently, so
I do not have to use teflon much. I have really enjoyed making pancakes on that
griddle though and have thought for a long time that some sort of skillet or
stainless steel griddle would be nice, if there is such a thing. My stainless
steel pots are not sticky at all, which I love. I’ve thought about cast iron,
but don’t want to mess with having to season it and such. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Dawnielle
