The device has a medium sized container on the bottom side. The sliced items fall into this container and the container is easily removed for emptying. The chopping device is placed on top of the container and consists of a spring loaded handle, an opening to place the food to be chopped, and a plug to place in the opening when the food being chopped is getting to the end. As the handle is pressed down, a blade slides sideways and chops the food. The thickness of the slice can be change to several different sizes. The blade inside of the chopping device can be easily changed to chop Julian fries. The device easily comes apart for cleaning. However, the device is NOT dishwasher safe. Therefore, it has to be washed by hand. While chopping food, the blade is not exposed to the hand. Mike
