Hi, Sheila. Yes, this helps heaps. I don't know what brand this skillet
is, but it's large enough for probably four or five hamburger patties and
also has a dial for each setting. I just got it labeled yesterday.

Subject: Re: [CnD] Electric Skillet Temperatures
Hello Lisa,
I have an electric frying pan which is many years old and is a Sunbeam. I
looked through some notes and this is what I found and hope it may be of
use to you.
ELECTRIC FRYING PAN
Dial by clock face:
10 o'clock, Simmer
12 to 1 o'clock, Medium,
2 o'clock. Hot
3 o'clock. Very hot.
=
9 Warm
10. 200. simmer
11. 220.
12. 260. medium
1. 300. fried egg, sausages
1.30.
1.45. 320. potatoes
2. 340, bacon, ham
2.15. 360. hamvurgers, pork chops, French toast
2.30. 380. pancakes
3. 400.
3.30. 420. minute steak
To explain, it has the information on the handle and it has a dial with a
pointer to the various temperature markings.
I haven't seen a new one, so don't know if they are still the same.
Hope this is of some help.
Sheila,
Vancouver, Canada.

Hi, all.
I just now got an electric skillet as a belated Christmas gift. I want to
try hamburgers and grilled cheses, but I'm not sure what the temperature
should be. This skillet starts at 200 and goes up to 450. I've only
cooked things like this on a stovetop, so I'm not sure what temperature I
should use. I'm thinking probably no lower than 300 and no higher than
350 for most things.
Thoughts?
Lisa
