Allison, I don't know if this is coming to you on or off-list; I hope it's off. One tip someone at Envision America gave me is that the IDMate Summit works a little differently from other IDMate units in that you need to hold the Summit a few inches away from the object you want it to identify. With older units, you could have the object practically right up to the lens, but the Summit works more effectively if held a good six or eight ches away.
