Hi Alison,

You should move the scanner up and down the box. When it finds the bar code it will say product. then it will automatically start reading the package information to you. After it reads a little, it will stop and then you press the up arrow or down arrow key I can't remember which and it will continue reading. It gives cooking instructions serving sizes and everything. It is a wonderful thing. If you need any more help let me know either on or off list.

Sharon

Subject: [CnD] Summit Iddd mate

Hello,
I sent a message to the list last night, but got an automated message that said it hadn't gone through, so I'm writing again. I just got my I.d. mate and really like it, but have some questions, on or off list for anyone who can answer them. I get the impression that the unit beeps when it's ready and then beeps when it gets a reading, but I haven't heard it do the second beep. Am I wrong in my assumption that it beeps when it gets a reading. About how long does it take before it start reading? What is the best way to scan effectively? Should I put the scanning window directly on the package and then pull it away? Thanks for any help anyone can give. It's an amazing product and I'm trying to read all kinds of things, just because I can.
