I use a variety of cookware from stainless steel to Teflon coated pots and pans. I also use glass cookware with out a problem. I use my hands to measure where the cookware should sit on the burners. For example,on the large burner, I know that it is 3 fingers from the front and 4 fingers from the side of the stove. The smaller burners are about the same distance except I measure from the back of the stove instead of the front and the distance from the side is still the same as it is with the front burners. All thogh not perfect, it works. If a pan is not quite on the burner, I figure it out by passing my hands around the outside, feeling for a more intense heat which lets me know that the pan does not cover the burner completely. The above methods work for me but if you are afraid of burning your hands then you might want to try a different method.
