I don't think this coffee maker is designed for a totally blind user. I
have one and can use it, though I have to guess what the little lights are
telling me.
Recently the on-off switch broke. It feels like one of those rocker
switches where one end is on and the other isn't. It really isn't. I had
to push it several times to start the machine, and finally, it stopped
working completely. I went to replace the machine and discovered there are
knock-offs. There's a Hamilton Beach and a Mr. Coffee. The Hamilton Beach
says its packets aren't interchangeable with k-cups. Mr. Coffee says that
as well, but it's not true. I got the Mr. Coffee because it's easier to
use. Only one button. Also I got it because Joe DiMaggio was a spokesman
and my mother was an avid Yankee fan.
Happy brewing,
Abby

strength of coffee, there is no way that we can be certain of either size or
strength because it doesn't speak the setting to us. The other issue is
that ours seems to change its mind about settings without any reason that I
can understand, even if a sighted person has set it properly. In other
words, I don't use the maker unless I am desperate. Does anyone have
suggestions that might help?
