when I make a carrot cake it has coconut, crushed pineapple and sometimes
walnuts and raisons. When I make a pumpkin cake I don't put any of those
ingredients in. I usually use cream cheese frosting for both cakes though.

In all reality, in terms of taste, can any of you really tell the
difference between pumpkin and carrot cakes?
I personally cannot, so I wondered if there is an ingredient out there
that distinguishes them from one another because, besides the fact that
one has pumpkin and the other has carrot, all of the other ingredients are
the same.
