I agree with you on the spices complaint. I think it's ridiculous they
cost so much, however, if you don’t use them every day, they'll last you a
good long while. I've done baking for my family and friends for Christmas
for the last couple of years. I finally ran out of ginger this year and had
to buy more. That was because I made several batches of gingersnaps. That
ginger previously, had lasted me about three years.

Bought ginger and nutmeg yesterday, at grocery store.
I could only find the McCormick brand, and i paid almost $5 for each.
And, I believe jars are only 1.6 ounces.
It is ridiculous that spices should cost this much, and for so very little.
