Something I realized long after getting my rice cooker, that may be of use
to others. The metal plate with the rubber in the middle that goes on the
top of the rice pot in my Panasonic rice cooker is removable, and so is the
rubber grommet from the top plate. It's also machine washable in the
dishwasher. I found this out recently, and it's been nice to be able to
clean it without having to have it still on the lid of the cooker.
This may be the case with other models as well, so it's probably wise to get
the manual for your particular rice cooker to find out if it has this
feature.
And of course, this will also give you cooking techniques for things other
than rice in it as well.
