Hi, Bill, For liquid measurements, "a pint's a pound" is true. But for flour and other dry ingredients, the weight and volume are different. It sounds like you used too much flour by not measuring. I think 1 pound of flour is about three cups. If you feel brave enough to try the recipe again. you can always put the leftover flour in the freezer for later use.
