If surfing the bodies of Emails rather than using the subject line as a
guideline is what you do, it is your fault for following a dangerous
practice. That is why the appropriate subject line is so important. We all
get into the bad habit of not changing it when we should, though. But,
given the number of messages I get each day, I have to use a quick method to
determine whether I want to read an Email or not, and the subject line is
the quickest and most accurate method if the author uses the subject line as
he or she should. It is up to the author, not the reader, to be accurate.

Yes. But surfing the bodies of messages is easier for some folks. (I don't
do it)

I would think that if you looked at the message by subject line rather
then open the message you would have less of a chance of getting a
virus.

It makes cut and paste operations a lot easier for those of us who
don't leave everything in a mail message.
There are also folks who travel through messages from one to the next
without checking titles first. This is a dangerous practice that makes
it very easy to get your computer infected with virii and should not be
done.
