Email on my iPhone 5 using IOS 7.0.3, and it reads correctly. What iDevice
and firmware are you using, and what voice? If it isn't reading
measurements correctly, you should do some modification, updating, or
something. The error is on your end, not the sender's.

My jaws for instance says question mark before the word cup instead of
say 1/2 or 1 cup and I have it set to read all punctuation so I'm not
sure what I could do differently except to purchase a newer version of
Jaws and my financial status will not permit me to do that at this
present time.
