I have never had good luck with springform pans; they always leaked badly
for me, so I avoid recipes using them.

I prefer a springform pan, making the cake much easier to get out. Then
again, I also use graham cracker crusts, but it sounds like yours lacks a
crust so you can probably get away with a regular dish or pan coated in
cooking spray.
