I hear time and time again that greasy food is an indicator your oil was not
hot enough. Could this be in your case?

Hello folks, I received my valentines day present in the form of the
afore mentioned deep fryer a few days ago, and I think we messed up our
earlier cooking experiment. in the big square bin that fits inside the
unit, just how full do you want to fill that with oil? I don't think
we put enough in, or, at least, when I checked it after we did some
fries, there really didn't appear to be that much in the thing at all.
The fries were either really burnt or barely done by turn, and
everything was greasy as hell. If you can recommend pointers, I'd
really appreciate it. Thanks much,
