For my half-gallon pitcher I've used eight regular tea bags, either Lipton or Tetley's british blend, or put a coffee filter in the basket and used a third of a cup of loose black tea, either Red Label or the english breakfast from Coffee Anyone, plus 1/2 cup sugar and one to two capfuls of lemon juice. If using family sized tea bags, I looked up, and it says each one makes a quart, so would use two.

I have used 3 family size lipton black tea bags and added sugar and lemon or lime for a sweet tea drink. It turns out well,

suggest doubling the tea bags for those wanting strong tea.

I too have that ice tea maker. What is your favorite tea to make in
there?
