Hi Folks!
The Cooking in the Dark show is back after a brief, well a long brief break!
Here is a recipe we make on the first show of the season!
It is easy and delicious!
Beer Bread
3 cups flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup sugar
1 12 ounce beer, a dark or stout beer works best...
I used Shiner Boch

do not use light beer like Miller Lite, Bud Light, etc.
Directions:
Combine and blend all dry ingredients.
Add the beer and mix well.
Put into a 3 by 8 loaf pan sprayed with vegetable oil and press down to even out in the loaf pan. Hint: wet your hands under the faucet before handling the dough to reduce sticking...
the dough will be pretty sticky.

Bake at 400 degrees F for 60 to 70  minutes.
or until the loaf sounds hollow when tapped on top
The crust will be pretty hard
but it will be soft and tasty inside!
