Surfas is probably local to California. There is more than one can opener that fits the description. It's a battery operated device you place on top of the can with the blade touching the outside of the can. You press a button and it opens a can. The lid sticks to the device so you can easily dispose of it. I'll get someone to read the brand name on my opener. Abby
