I wanted to make just one loaf of bread today so I went through my favorite
recipes for bread and came up with the recipe below. It turned out great and
thought I would share it. I used my bread machine to mix it up but then I just
finished the kneading in a bowl but I am sure all the mixing can be done in the
bread machine. I later made an adaptation of a Oatmeal Bread recipe that also
turned out wonderfully good as one loaf. I will have to write it down first but
will try and send it tomorrow.

White Bread 1 Loaf

1 cup water
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons Crisco
3/4 teaspoon salt
Heat in microwave until hot.
Stir until Crisco has melted.
Stir in slowly:
1/4 cup milk
Mix in another bowl
3 cups of flour and
2 teaspoons of quick rise yeast
Pour liquid into flour yeast mixture and mix adding more flour, approximately 1
more cup to make soft not sticky dough.
Rise until double in bulk, punch down.
Put in loaf pan and let rise again until about 2 to 3 inches higher than the
top of the bread pan.
I baked it on second from bottom rack at 350 degrees for 22 minutes.
Note:
Can mix this in bread machine to save on mess but do not bake in machine.
