I always crumble it with water and let it proof with a little sugar.

Subject: [CnD] Cake yeast
Hello,
I was talking with to someone about using cake east to make bread. I was
wondering if anyone on the list is ever used it? When I was wondering, is
do you crush the yeast up in the cakes of yeast up, or do you put it in
water and let it melt and then use it? I remember hearing both ways. Any
suggestions will be helpful, thank you very much in advance Bill
