Hi. Welcome to the list. I hope you enjoy your time here. My personal preference would be to cook a meat like bacon or sausage before putting it in the slow cooker. I've never used bacon in a slow cooker, but most casseroles, soups, etc. which use meats like bacon instruct you to cook the bacon first.
